This is the satirical blog of Sister Mary of Wallasey and all entries are written in Mary's personal capacity.
It is in no way designed to represent the official (or unofficial) viewpoint of any political party or candidate, and is not within their control. A fellow sister in the Tory Party inspired Mary to bring this blog to life. You know who you are! Enjoy!

Don't go back!

This image really did put the fear of God in me as I'm sure it will to the people of Wallasey.

Memories of the destruction and damage the Tories did to our region under Thatcher came flooding back. The Tories’ haven’t changed and I firmly believe that underneath Cameron's polished exterior, they are still the same old nasty party who for two decades wrecked local schools and hospitals and abandoned the people of our region – throwing Merseyside onto the scrapheap. Given the chance, they would do it all again.

The Tories really are a change we can't afford.

Champagne Daaarrrlings!

Champagne corks were popping at the Wallasey Conservative Association fundraising black tie dinner organised by Sister Sue 'roots' Taylor last Friday. Sue tried her best to raise (lots more) cash for Princess Leah's campaign fund but I'm told the event wasn't exactly a sell out and some local Tories didn't even turn up to support the princess at all! (Well, the dull Damian Green was the guest speaker so what do you expect?)

The surprise guest on the night however, was Sister Lewis of Leasowe. It seems the appeal of champagne (a favourite tipple of the Tory upper classes) was enough to lure him away from the bright lights of Manchester, where, I understand, he spends his time gallivanting on Friday and Saturday nights.

Meanwhile, another local Tory (who shall remain nameless) was complaing to a colleague from another political party that he had better things to do with £40.00 than to waste it having dinner with the princess!

I do hope the few that did attend had an enjoyable night - but where was my invite?!

Hitting the headlines!

My dearest congregation, many of you may have seen my exclusive interview in the Wirral News today.http://www.wirralnews.co.uk/wirral-news/local-wirral-news/2010/01/27/sister-mary-blog-electrifies-wirral-political-scene-80491-25688633/ Now, I wouldn’t usually engage in such a showbiz style interview, but it seems there is a great deal of interest in my blog and the people of Wirral want to know more about me.

Fellow sisters say that I’m vastly becoming somewhat of a celebrity, well; if my interview gets more people reading my blog then I’m sure the good Lord won’t be too concerned. Who knows, by the time the election comes I could well be a household name!

I’ve got lots more juicy stories on Wallasey Tories lined up and will be bringing them to you very, very soon…

Tally-no! Princess Leah's bid to gag Labour on fox hunting

I rejoiced the day Labour banned the barbaric bloodsport of foxhunting but it seems Wallasey Tories don’t share my enthusiasm. News reached me over the weekend that Princess Leah took legal action to try and gag her political opponents on this very issue.

It appears that the Tories don’t want foxhunting (once a favourite pastime of the Tory upper classes) to feature during the election campaign. No, a particular Labour activist received a warning from Princess Leah’s solicitors after a leaflet containing a story about the bloodsport was distributed in parts of the constituency.

Princess Leah was particularly upset that the leaflet contained the words “Tally-Ho” – the term used to urge hounds on during a fox hunt – and so instructed her legal representatives to act.

Princess Leah demanded:

An apology
An undertaking not to repeat the story
An undertaking to stop distributing any further material on this issue
Payment of legal costs

Obviously the Tories in Wallasey are very sensitive about fox hunting but there is no getting away from the fact that the Tories will try to repeal the ban if they win the next election.

Homer's been gagged!

I knew it wouldn’t be too long before the Tories started to get fed up with Dennis ‘Homer Simpson’ Knowles. A little blue birdie tells me that his new found ‘friends’ have heard quite enough of his fantasy and gobbledegook and appear to have censored some of his recent blog posts.

Within hours of posting a blog entry about Angela Eagle and her local office, Homer was ordered to take it down. Was this because he (unsurprisingly) didn’t have his facts right? Not to worry though Homer, I’ve kept a copy and will place it in my bible for safe keeping.

Sources now tell me that all future blog entries must be checked, checked and checked again to save the Tories from further humiliation.

Meanwhile, one Tory lady is so embarrassed by Homer that she loathes canvassing with him!

I’ll have more on the self confessed socialist turned Tory soon…

Its official - Princess Leah wants two jobs!

My Prayers have been answered! Princess Leah's Tories have today confirmed that she wants two jobs! Yes, our local Tory princess, famous for her love of designer handbags, intends to run for local MP and Councillor at the same time.

Leah and her designer bag carrier and agent (the European Union employed 'press secretary'), issued a joint statement to the Wirral News blog, Hamilton Squared, in response to questions from Labour's Darren Dodd (next Councillor for Liscard) about her plans to run for both MP and Councillor at the same time.

Their statement has raised more questions than answers but implies that Princess Leah still wants to do both despite saying she wouldn't take on any "second jobs" in a local second-rate free sheet.

What will the people of Wallasey think?

Good job she's in Brussels!

My dear friend, Sister Lewis of Leasowe, is a busy chap. He is employed by the European Parliament in Brussels as a 'press secretary' to North West MEP, Jaquline Foster, but appears to spend most of his time working on behalf of Tory parliamentray candidate, Princess Leah.

I'm told that Sister Lewis plays no small role in Princess Leah's campaign either. No, Tory insiders have me believe that he is actually running her election campaign (again) which begs the question, what does he actually do for the former trolley dolly turned MEP, Ms Foster?

Maybe Sister Lewis can comment via this blog to put my mind at ease?

It's one or the other, Princess Leah!

Dear Lord! What will the people of Wallasey think about Princess Leah's hopes of pocketing two sets of allowances courtesy of the taxpayer? Not only does she want to be be paid for being their MP but it seems she also wants to claim local councillors allowances at the same time!

While other parliamentary candidates, who are also local councillors, have announced their intentions to stand down from their council seats to focus on the general election campaign (especially as both elections are widely expected to take place on the same day), Princess Leah so far has not!

My congregation has expressed concern about Princess Leah's intentions. Surely its got be one or the other? Does she really expect the local electorate to believe that she is uniquely suited to run for local MP and Councillor at the same time and presumably do both jobs? Especially after she made great play in her Wirral Globe advert of not taking on "any second jobs." Or is she really motivated by the potential financial rewards on offer?
