Not so long ago, Tory Councillor for Liscard, Karen Hayes, hit the headlines for all the wrong reasons after she was accused of being a rogue landlord by a tenant who was left living in a property riddled with damp and dirt.
According to the Liverpool Daily Post, environmental health inspectors were called to the property and Hayes and her husband were quite rightly ordered to carry out a lengthy list of repairs to make the property habitable for their tenant and her baby daughter to live in!
News of the Rachman style behaviour was even more shocking given that Hayes was at the time also on the board of Wirral Partnership Homes.
Once the news broke, Hayes kept a low profile by taking a holiday in Egypt (some say to escape the media scrum) as so was christened 'Holiday Hayes' by her political opponents.
Since then, Holiday Hayes has been very quiet - leading people to question if she is now on a permanent holiday from Tory party politics? Or has she simply decided to let her son - Russel Grant look-alike and Wallasey Councillor Paul Hayes keep the dream alive?
